Uniting as Proud Americans in Compassionate Community Service

ShareFest is an annual event in New Lenox involving over 70 organizations through "Eleven Days of Giving" from September 1st-11th. During this time, we unite as Proud Americans to meet the needs in the community. These needs are met through hundreds of volunteers sacrificing their time, talents, gifts and resources in compassionate community service for those in need.

Activities include:

  • blood drive
  • book drive /free exchange
  • clothing and home goods drive/ free exchange
  • food drive for our pantries
  • health & safety fair
  • job fair
  • recycling drive including a hazardous waste collection
  • recycling art fair promoting eco-friendly vendors
  • fix-up/clean-up projects for those in need as well as workday projects with the Will County Forest Preserve District.

The Saturday September 8th "Main Event" is a free public event promoting sustainability while allowing attendees to dispose of household hazardous waste, electronics, Styrofoam, and scrap metal and more. This year we will have food, live music, how-to workshops, and other activities for the whole family. There will be eco-friendly exhibits with experts in their field displaying products, sharing ideas, and helpful hints on how to be good stewards of our environment.
